The workshop on Electron Microscopy (WEM2011) is jointly organized by Institute of Physics (IOP), Bhubaneswar and Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IITBBSR),Bhubaneswar from November 23 – 25 , 2011.The Workshop will be held at the Institute of Physics (main lecture hall), Bhubaneswar.

The main objective of the workshop on Electron Microscopy is to bring many young researchers from the Eastern part of India and provide a platform to have interaction with eminent microscopists.

We invite applications from senior research scholors and junior faculty/scientists who have been using electron microscopy as user for their work as PARTICPANT. Please submit an ABSTRACT of your work (one page: including title, authors, addresses, contacting author addess (must be participant) BEFORE 4th NOVEMBER. Priority would be given for participants from EASTERN REGION of INDIA. Please note that, we may offer sleeper class train fare, registration fee waiver for deserving candidates with no support from any of their projects or home institutes. Such requests should reach “wem2011@iopb.res.in” or “wem.iopb@gmail.com” before 4th November 2011. Please note that we have only 30 seats avaialble for the people from out-side Bhubaneswar. The participants without an abstract NEED to send recommendation letter through their supervisor/head of the Department/Institute along with their CV.

Electron Microscope Society of India has formed five zonal chapters (East, West, North, South and Central zones) to enhance the interaction and networking among the microscopists in India.This work shop is a part of inaugural series workshops sponsored by EMSI (particularly eastern zonal chapter).
