  1. Thermodynamics of non-equilibrium steady states : passive and active entities

Recently, we have shown that the response function at non-equilibrium steady state can be expressed in terms of an additive correction to the well-known equilibrium fluctuation-dissipation theorem (FDT). The correction involves a correlation of particle velocities with local mean current. At equilibrium this current vanishes and thus reduces the modified relation to the well known FDT. We derived this result using a discrete Master equation dynamics and the continuum Langevin dynamics. This part of the work got recently published in Phys. Rev. E 85, 021102 (2012). We are now extending these results to active steady states of a self propelled particle model.
