Meet the Thespian -- Rudraprasad Sengupta

  • Rudraprasad Sengupta is a fireband leader of Kolkata's leading theatre group Nandikar. Began in June, 1960 under Ajitesh Bandopadhyay, Rudraprasad became the leader of the group during late Seventies.

    Born in January, 1935, Rudraprasad has directed and acted in many theatres for Nandikar -- Antigone, Football, Khorir Gondi, Mananiya Bicharak Mandalee, to name a few. He received Sangeet Natak Academy award in 1980. He has also acted in Bernardo Bertolucci's film Little Buddha and Roland Joffe's film City of Joy.
