From Guwahati Airport: Taxi service is available to Palatan Bazar Guwahati Rly. Stn./ASTC Bus Stn. (Fare around 200/-) from where frequent bus service is available to Tezpur.
From Guwahati Railway station : The Bus stand (Paltan Bazar) is just adjacent to Platform No. 7 ( not on the side of Platform no 1, PanBazar). From Paltan Bazar, frequent bus service is available to Tezpur. Fare varies between 75/- to 115/- depending on the type of coach/bus service available.
N.B From Guwahati to Tezpur : Guwahati to Tezpur is about 4-5 Hrs. journey by road.
Buses
ply mainly through two routes:
i) via Mangaldoi : Tezpur is about 175 km. In this route you will cross mighty Brahmaputra (Saraighat Bridge) first and proceed to tezpur. Important land marks this route are Baihata chariali, Mangoldoi, Kharupetia, Rowta Chariali, Orang and Dhekiajuli.
ii) via Nagaon
: Tezpur is about 190 km. In this route you will cross mighty
Brahmaputra river
(Kaliabhomorah Bridge) at last, just before reaching tezpur.
Important land marks in this route are Jorabat, Jagi Road, Raha, Nagaon
and
Koliabor Tiniali.
From Tezpur :
Shuttle Bus-service (Assam State Transport Corporation) is available to the University campus free of cost between 6-30 AM - 7-30 PM from ASTC Bus stand ( last stop for the buses coming from Guwahati).
We are planning to deploy volunteers at relevant places e.g. Guwahati Airport/Rly Stn./ASTC Bus Stn., Tezpur ASTC Bus Stn. etc. who can guide CMDAYS participants. On 28th of August 2006,
participants are requested to come to Tezpur ASTC Bus Stn., where we will make a CMDAYS-information centre for rendering service related to accommodation/transportation.
Note that you may be accommodated in the assam tourist lodge (near tezpur bus-stand)/youth hostel, so coming directly to university may not be convenient to you. On the symposium days buses will pick up you from the places of accommodation and drop at the conference venue.
