Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar is organising a Refresher
Course in Physics for College Teachers. The course is intended for the enthusiastic
teachers interested in innovative approaches in teaching and research in physics.
The programme will consist of introductory lectures on topics
of current research interest such as Elementary Particle Physics and Group Theory,
Vortices, Nuclear Reactions in Solar Structures and Astrophysics, Quantum Entanglment,
Fibonacci Crystals, DNA Unzipping, Non-linear Dynamics, Computer Courses and Exploration
of Interesting Physics Experiments (Lab.)
Twenty
participants will be admitted to the course and will stay in the campus. In addition, some
participants who can arrange their accommodation in Bhubaneswar, will also be admitted.
The selected candidates will be provided TA (to and fro 2nd class train fare or bus fare
by the shortest route) and local hospitality. Those interested should apply to the

A
recommendation letter from the Head of the Department in support of the application is
required. Those who had applied last year, but could not be accommodated may submit a
fresh application for consideration.
The last date
of receipt of application is 30th April, 2006. Only those who are willing to
partipate for the entire duration of the course need to apply.
